- This treatment unit is designed to satisfy the needs of 3,500 people, which is the number of people that is expected to live in Local community Žitište in thirty years. The citizens are now experiencing numerous difficulties when the level of subterranean waters rises, so that this project, of which completion is expected in mid-2010, is very significant for our municipality – Ljubinko Petković, Technical Manager in public company "Razvoj", told "eKapija".
According to his words, that is the first phase of waste water regulation in the municipality of Žitište because there is also a possibility that the treatment unit in Local community Žitište will be used by local communities Torak and Ravni Topolovac.
Open competition for selection of the contractor is in progress, and the project has been elaborated by the Faculty of Civil Engineering from Belgrade and Belgrade-based company "Ehting", which provides planning, engineering and consulting services in hydro-technology and civil engineering.
