Twelve new airlines to European countries will be introduced at the Nis Constantine the Great Airport in mid-July, and Air Serbia will also have its service at the airport after a long time.

Tickets have been available for a month now.

In the first five months of 2019, the services of the Nis Airport were used by slightly over 135,000 passengers traveling to 19 cities in Europe, RTS reports.

The airport says that everything is ready for increased traffic, and the lines were picked based on the diaspora's needs and tourists' interests, but also based on the needs of potential investors and business partners, which is why the majority of the new destinations are in Germany.

– We have analyzed the presence of foreign companies in the region of Southeast Serbia, their seats and factories in other states in Europe, and try to provide connections to those destinations, because we believe that, based on the positive experiences of the companies which are already present in the region, we will be able to work on attracting new investors more effectively – says Milan Randjelovic of the Office for Local Economic Development of Nis.

The PR of the Nis Airport, Ivanka Stanisavljevic, says that the entire team is eagerly awaiting the first Air Serbia plane, which will land on July 15.

Furthermore, travel agencies are invited to use the proximity of the airport and organize charter flights at least during the summer season, as there are currently no flights to Mediterranean countries.
