Reconstruction of Novi Pazar-Tutin road in September 2019 – Value of works EUR 24 million

The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, visited Novi Pazar together with the minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications of Serbia, Rasim Ljajic, on July 2, and held a meeting with the city's mayor, Nihat Bisevac, and the presidents of the municipalities of Sjenica and Tutin with infrastructure projects as the main topic.

– Without infrastructure projects, there is no progress, development, connections, or stability. Today, we talked about road infrastructure, but also utility infrastructure and everything that is required for a normal life of citizens in this area. In early September, we will start building the Novi Pazar-Tutin road, worth EUR 24 million. Furthermore, we are completing the project-technical documentation for several roads and starting the reconstruction of the Prijepolje-Sjenica road, but also the Raska-Novi Pazar and Ivanjica-Sjenica roads – she said.

Mihajlovic added that the construction of the road between Novi Pazar and Tutin had been expected for years and that, thanks to the good relations of Serbia and Turkey, an agreement had been reached for the realization of the project to start in September, the ministry says on its website.

Rasim Ljajic said that, in the twenty years of his being in various state positions, this was the first time that Novi Pazar was visited by an entire ministry and thanked the deputy prime minister Mihajlovic and her team for their dedication and professional approach.

Nihat Bisevac thanked the two deputy prime ministers for visiting the city and said that projects important for the development of the city and the improvement of the quality of the citizens' lives had been discussed at the meeting.

– In addition to the Novi Pazar-Tutin road, the Novi Pazar-Sjenica road will be built as well. Also, the interchange leading to the city center and the bypass route around Novi Pazar will be reconstructed – he said.

Kenan Hot, the president of the municipality of Tutin, said that projects important for all local self-governments in the area had been discussed at the meeting.

– Over 100 km will be reconstructed this and next year. This is extremely important for our citizens and our economy. Also, we discussed the land register, building permits and the activities of inspection services – Hot said.

Hazbo Mujovic, the president of the municipality of Sjenica, said that he was happy that the municipality would be connected by new traffic routes on all sides.

– We want this area to stop being one of the undeveloped municipalities. I am happy that Sjenica will be connected with Ivanjica, Prijepolje and Novi Pazar by new traffic routes – he said.
