In the period between June 15 and September 14, 2019, the road toll in Croatia will be raised by 10% for certain vehicle groups. This year, Hrvatske Autoceste (HAC) expects up to 5% increase in traffic compared to 2018.

As Poslovni Dnevnik reports, HAC invested over EUR 10 million in extraordinary highway maintenance between September 2018 and April 2019. Twenty-five new patrol vehicles with rear LED displays were also procured. The displays will show detailed warnings to drivers as per need.

For HAC, the tourist season officially begins on June 17 and the works on the highways will be brought down to a minimum from that point on so as not to affect the traffic.
