Google has implemented a speedometer into Google Maps, allowing its users to track their driving speed in real time.

The option can be turned on and off from the Navigation Settings menu. When on, the speed is displayed in the upper left corner of the app. This is one in a range of options that have been introduced to Google Maps after initially appearing in the Waze app, which Google bought in 2013.

The new option will be available in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Taiwan, Great Britain and the USA.
