Pancevo is developing two industrial zones – 30 million RSD for ground preparation

Based on the City councilors’ request, Pancevo city’s urban planners had to finish by the end of November, all projects necessary for the opening of the two industrial zones.

Jovan Stankovic, Deputy of the General Manager of the Agency for construction and development of the city, stated that there would be 75 hectares prepared for the greenfield investors in the back area of “The Danube” port, and another 215 hectares south from Pancevo petrol-chemical complex.

Mr. Stankovic confirmed that objections because of the project’s delay are justified. All locations on the attractive Corridor 7, along the Danube river, have been given their purpose in the General plan from 1976, but city’s authorities have never reached adequate decision.

- We hope we’re not late to offer this attractive land to good investors. The zones will have exit to the river and to the main traffic ways, and everything will be even more attractive when Vincanski bridge will be built. The zones will be ready in one to two years time, as in the meantime the ground needs to be prepared which will not be so cheap for the city, but we are not going to give up because of expensive ground preparation.

The mayor of the city, Vesna Martinovic said on the City Council’s Assembly that Pancevo has in this moment 30 million RSD for preparation of the ground, which it received from the Provincial Fund for capital investments, but the project will have a priority mark in the future 2010 city plans.
