On March 4, 2019, the Competition Council of B&H received the notification of the concentration from m:tel regarding its intention to become the 100% owner of the cable operator Elta-Kabel, BiznisInfo reports.

According to the data from the notification, this concentration will have an effect primarily in the relevant retail markets: landline phone service, mobile phone service, internet service provision and radio and TV service provision in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Competition Council invites all interested business entities operating in the relevant market or other business entities operating in other markets, in which the intended concentration might have an effect, as well as other institutions or association with adequate findings about the relevant market, to submit written opinions or complaints within 7 days from the announcement.

This is said in the Competition Council's announcement dated May 30, 2019.

BiznisInfo reminds that the majority owner of m:tel is Telekom Srbija. According to estimates, Elta-Kabel is the leading cable provider in Republika Srpska.

m:tel has recently bought Telrad Net from Bijeljina and Blicnet from Banjaluka, which have been operating within it since the beginning of 2019.
