The final section of the Arben Xhaferi highway from Pristina to the Macedonian border will officially open for traffic.

In addition to the Pristina authorities, as announced, the opening will also be attended by the prime ministers of Montenegro and North Macedonia, Dusko Markovic and Zoran Zaev.

The works were carried out by the American-Turkish consortium Bektel – Enka, and 383 subcontractors from Kosovo and Metohija were involved in the project. A total of 9,384 workers took part in the construction.

This highway features the tallest and longest bridge in the Balkans. It is 5.7 kilometers long, and its highest point stands at an altitude of 83 meters.

The Macedonian side announced that it would start the works on the construction of the highway in 2019.
