The first regional conference “Days of Good Wind” will be held on June 13-14 in Vodice, Croatia. The organizer is the association Obnovljivi Izvori Energije Hrvatske
, whereas the regional partner is the eKapija business portal.
Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy and the partnership support of WindEurope, which is present in Croatia for the first time through this event, the conference will gather representatives of European and global institutions, such as the International Renewable Energy Agency, European Commission, Energy Community, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Finance Corporation, World Bank, as well as representatives of ministries and the financial sector from the region, producers of turbines and electricity and representatives of the academic community.
As the organizers point out, investing in wind power projects in Southeast Europe is extremely low, and the development of investors' trust is slowed down due to macroeconomic factors.
The data show that investments in the region amount to around EUR 1 billion, compared to EUR 26.7 billion invested in new wind farms in Europe. This part of Europe, then, amounts to only 4% in 2018, whereas only a year before, the percentage was at 16%.
Obnovljivi Izvori Energije Hrvatske therefore decided to organize this conference, in order for the countries of Southeast Europe to come up with joint solutions for meeting the European goals concerning renewable energy.
