At the session of the City Assembly of Uzice held on April 24, the decision was made to initiate the procedure of transferring the property and the activities of the PE Aerodrom Ponikve (Ponikve Airport) to the Republic of Serbia.

This decision marks the beginning of a process which Uzice is carrying out in cooperation with the Government of Serbia and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure with the aim of further developing the airport and putting it in service of the development of the tourism and the economy of the Zlatibor District.

In line with the defined strategy of the development of air transport in Serbia, the Ponikve Airport will secure the requirements for establishing air traffic for all types of aircraft in the upcoming period, with the support of the Government of Serbia and in line with the planned realization of the investments.

After the construction of key road corridors through this region, making the airport fully functional would make this region well connected by traffic routes.
