Decision about bid for Belgrade Trade Fair to be made prior to August 3rd

- Tender commission will make the decision about the destiny of the Belgrade Trade Fair within next 15 days - the Privatization Agency announced.

The Head of the Information Service within the Privatization Agency, Dušan Belanović, says that the Tender commission had the meeting yesterday (July 20, 2009), and that the final decision about the tender for the Belgrade Trade Fair would be made prior to August 3rd at the latest.

The consortium comprising companies "Verano Motors" and "Rimini" is the only bidder on the tender for takeover of the trade fair, and it has offered the price of 1.835m EUR for capital and investment programme worth 335m EUR. It has also accepted minimum obligations from the social programme. However, the Ministry of Economy of Serbia is of the opinion that that bid is unacceptable.

The Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mlađan Dinkić, said on that occasion that the Tender commission would suggest the consortium buy the trade fair at the price of 40m EUR and keep 35m EUR worth of investments. He said that, if the consortium rejected that offer, the tender would be cancelled and the trade fair would be nationalized.
