Two large enterprises in Čačak to be privatized - "Fabrika reznih alata" and "Sloboda"
- So far, 41 public companies in Čačak have been privatized, and two large enterprises still need to be privatized - it was said today (July 20, 2009) to the press in Čačak-based branch office of the Association of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia.
According to the data provided by the Independent Trade Union, 38 Čačak-based public companies have been sold at auctions, three enterprises have been sold on tenders, while the buyers are entrepreneurs from Čačak, as well as companies from Greece, Israel, Bulgaria and Austria.
Most workers are not satisfied with privatization. The Privatization Agency has canceled sales contracts for several enterprises, among which are "Pks-latex", "Autoservis" and "Hidrogradnja".
Workers in several privatized companies often go on strike because the payment of salaries and other allowances is late. Some of these companies are "Paper Factory", Slap Group, "Niskogradnja" and "Ugopromet".
According to the data provided by Independent Trade Union, there are only two large companies in Čačak that still need to be privatized - "Factory of Cutting Tools" and "Sloboda", which have already cut the number of workers within the scope of their preparations for privatization.
After the third social programme, there are about 550 workers in "Factory of Cutting Tools", while factory of household appliances "Sloboda" has about 200 employees.
Acting Director General of Factory of Cutting Tools, Milan Vidaković, said to the press that he expected the third attempt of tender sale of the factory by the end of the year, and he added that certain large Russian company was interested in takeover of the factory.
According to the data provided by the Privatization Agency, in addition to "Factory of Cutting Tools" and "Sloboda", fruit and vegetable manufacturer "Fungi voće" and Čačak's radio and TV station should also be privatized.
