Negotiations commenced about licenses for "Jat Airways"
- The negotiations between Serbian and Croatian Ministry of Transportation, which should make it possible for "Jat" to obtain license for flights to Dubrovnik, commenced today (July 13, 2009) in Belgrade - people from the Ministry of Infrastructure of Serbia told Beta agency.
Participants in the negotiations that commenced at noon are the experts from Serbian Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Sea, Transportation and Infrastructure of Croatia, and the topics are unresolved issues related to road, railway, water and air transportation.
According to earlier announcements, disputable issues include licenses for "Jat" for flights to Dubrovnik, licenses for road transportation of goods and the problem related to use of the airport in Osijek because airplanes enter Serbia's air space.
It is expected that the negotiations will last for two days and that the Minister of Infrastructure of Serbia, Milutun Mrkonjić, and the Minister of Transportation of Croatia, Božidar Kalmeta, will sign the agreements on Wednesday and Thursday.
- I hope that everything will be ready for "Jat" to fly to Dubrovnik on July 20th - Mrkonjić pointed out last week.
Serbian national airliner had asked Croatian aviation authorities to issue licenses for Belgrade-Dubrovnik flights during summer tourist season, and only the first two flights, on July 2 and 6, were carried out because "Jat" obtained licenses only for them.
