AccorHotels planning expansion in B&H – Potential locations include Banjaluka, Mostar, Tuzla and Bjelasnica
– It's no secret that we see great potential for Accor hotels in cities such as Mostar, Banjaluka, Tuzla, but also the gorgeous Olympic mountain of Bjelasnica, an area that could host Accor hotel brands – said Irek Weglowski, the vice president of the Management Board of Orbis Group, the strategic partner of AccorHotels for Central and Eastern Europe, at the celebration of the completion of the construction and adaptation of Hotel ibis Styles, formerly Hotel Sarajevo.
The construction of a tower has increased the hotel's capacity, currently featuring 181 rooms, a spa center, a restaurant, a panoramic bar and a congress hall for 800 people. The investor, the company Tareq Hospitality, put around BAM 30 million (EUR 15 million) in this hotel, and 30 people were employed.
AccorHotels and Orbis Group, Weglowski pointed out, have a strategy of entering new markets, namely, countries of Southeastern Europe, with the aim of soon becoming a leader in the hospitality sector in Southeast Europe, with business partners such as Tareq Hospitality, the owner of ibis Styles and MGallery Tarcin Forest Resort.
– We are proud that Tareq Hospitality is working with Accor and that it has decided to pick ibis Styles, a leading world brand which provides the investor with a unique kind of flexibility and freedom when it comes to hotel design – Weglowski said.
Ibis Styles hotels are present in 430 facilities worldwide. There are 23 in Central and Eastern Europe, whereas another 10 are being prepared. They are present in 45 countries, including eight countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The development plans for ibis Styles until 2022 include 180 new hotels, that is, 28,000 rooms.
Only two years ago, there were no Accor hotels in B&H. Now, there are four hotels under four different brands, making for a total of around 650 rooms. In addition to ibis Styles and MGallery Tarcin Forest Resort, there are also Novotel and Swissotel in Sarajevo.
