Somborski Boulevard and Subotički Boulevard in Novi Sad to be opened for traffic on November 1st

After rebalance of the city budget, I can say that public procurements for Somborski Boulevard and Subotički Boulevard will be finished in about 15 days, that the contracts with contractors will be signed at the beginning of August, and that November 1st is the deadline for completion of works in these two boulevards - said the CEO of the Institute for Construction of Novi Sad, Borislav Novaković, during the visit to the building site in Dr. Svetislava Kasapinovića Street in Detelinara.

He pointed out that that street would be finished about 20 days before the deadline, that is, August 8th.

- We told citizens that the street would be finished prior to August 8th, but we will now correct ourselves by saying that the street will be finished about 20 days earlier, which makes me very happy. I want to send a message to all citizens of Novi Sad and all those who are coming to this city: "Come to Detelinara". Detelinara is a good place for living and a good place for investments. By organizing Svetislava Kasapinovića Street, we also make both Detelinara and Novi Sad more beautiful and more functional for life - Novaković said on that occasion.

In addition to new lane, Svetislava Kasapinovića Street will also get new pavement and parking lots on both sides. Plumbing and sewerage networks have been refurbished, new street lighting system has been installed, and it is expected that greenery will be introduced in the refurbished street in autumn. The value of works amounts to 40,932,208 RSD.

When asked by the press whether installation of sewerage in Futoška Street would endanger sycamore alley, Novaković pointed out:

- Our principle is to save a tree wherever we can. We will really try to realize each of the investments in the way that should not endanger any tree or any other greenery in the city.
