This year the EBRD will hold its Annual Meeting and Business Forum in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, following a successful application by the local authorities. This is the single most important event in the yearly cycle of the Bank and it combines the reunion of the Board of Governors, the EBRD’s highest decision-making body, and the Business Forum.

The theme of this year’s Business Forum is Connecting Economies for Stronger Growth. It will feature an engaging program, covering wide-ranging issues of relevance for all the EBRD’s regions: migration, tourism, digitalization, the mega trends that shape our future as well as more region-specific events focusing on investment opportunities in the Western Balkans.

The EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum will also offer a number of special associated events, and dedicated business sessions discussing investment prospects in both the host country Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries in the EBRD’s regions of operations.

All details and updates on the 2019 EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum are available online, as well as instructions for registration.

The EBRD is a multilateral financial institution which supports the transition to market economies and the development of open, private sector-based, sustainable economies through investment and policy engagement. The Bank invests directly and alongside private sector investors. The EBRD is also a pioneer in supporting the transition to green economies.

Currently, the EBRD invests in 38 economies across three continents. Total bank investment in all sectors of the economy at the end of 2018 stood at more than EUR 130 billion through over 5,300 projects, of which 79% were in the private sector.

The EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum, organized by the Bank together with the host country, traditionally attracts more than 2,000 delegates from governments, businesses, institutions, civil society, think-tanks and media. It provides unique networking opportunities as well as a platform for the host country to present itself to an international audience.
