DROBNJAK: I will propose for freight trucks to pay toll on main roads as well

The director of the PE Roads of Serbia, Zoran Drobnjak, stated that he would propose to the Government of Serbia for the road toll for freight trucks to be collected on main roads as well, in the same amount as on highways.

This would secure additional revenues of 70 to 80 million euros a year for the Roads of Serbia, Drobnjak said on TV Prva and reminded that the road toll income was around EUR 200 million a year at the moment.

– The highway from Ljig to Preljina has been completed, but freight trucks choose to go down the overloaded Main Ibar Road – Drobnjak clarified and added that it was also a question of safety.

He reminds that 15,000 vehicles use the bypass route around Cacak each day, whereas the Celije section on the Main Ibar Road sees 17,000 vehicles, and 25 to 26 thousand vehicles pass through the Lipovica Forest each day.
