Telenor Serbia plans to invest over EUR 100 million in Serbia’s economy in 2019 through direct investments in the telecommunications structure, the upgrade of mobile internet, the development of digital technologies, taxes and salaries, as well as other expenditures, announced the new CEO of Telenor Serbia, Mike Michel.
– User demand will be the driving engine and provide the guidelines for Telenor’s investments. No doubt, over 50% of infrastructural investments will be put in the development of the network’s capacities, the internet and the service usage, as well as in innovations – says Michel.
The past year was good for Telenor Serbia’s operations. In the last three quarters of 2018, the company grew faster than the competition, and the number of users increased by 3% in that period compared to the same period in 2017, the company announced.
Telenor Serbia currently has over 900 employees, and the number is expected to increase, as Serbia’s economy and its retail market are expected to grow.
Let us remind that, in mid-2018, PPF became the owner of 100% of Telenor’s operations in Central and Eastern Europe for EUR 2.8 billion.
PPF manages a capital of EUR 38 billion in 22 countries on 3 continents.
