The Turkish car cable company Feka Automotive and the Chinese companies Chong Chia and Xuan Hailan, producers of plastic granules and socks respectively, are to open factories in Cuprija, the municipality’s president, Ninoslav Eric, told Tanjug.

He said that Feka Automotive had the same production program as the German company Truck-Lite Europe, which was forced to give up on the construction of a plant in Cuprija due to unforeseen problems.

He said that the project-technical documentation was being prepared for the Turkish company and that the construction of the plant and the issuing of subsidies for jobs at the factory would start in 2019.

Chong Chia has rented a part of the former Velmotrans facility. The Chinese investor has already registered the company, and the equipment is on its way to Cuprija. The production is expected to begin in the first months of 2019, Eric specified.

Xuan Hailan will open the plant together with the Chinese company Eurofiber, which is already active in Cuprija.

The machinery and equipment for the production of socks had been cleared through customs and the installation began on December 28. Eric pointed out that the factory was expected to open and start producing soon.

A total of 30 workers got the job at the factory at the now closed contest.

Eric pointed out that the municipality was negotiating with a large company which should rent 12 hectares in the town’s Industrial Zone in January and that a large number of workers from Cuprija would be employed there, as well as that the company would hire a large number of subcontractors.

He said that this company was very important for the entire Morava District and that area of Serbia.
