Production of road stones in "Ostrovica" discontinued

Production in Industrial-building company "Ostrovica" on Rudnik mountain, which operates as a part of company "Zorka Alas Kamen", with the headquarters in Novi Sad, was discontinued on Friday (May 15, 2009) due to lack of market.

As a member of the Administrative Board of that company, Željko Dragović, explained, 30 workers have been sent to the paid vacation, and the production will be resumed as soon as the first buyers appear.

He explained that "Ostrovica" produced road stones, but since there were no works on junctions in that part of Serbia, the machines had to be turned off.

"Zorka Alas Kamen" is a part of Austrian holding "Asamer", which started production of road stones on Rudnik mountain in 2004.
