The defense industry of Serbia, together with Jugoimport-SDPR, exported more than USD 600 million worth of arms in 2018, which is 10% more than in 2017. The state will continue investing in new technologies, and the country invested around EUR 9.5 million in Zastava Oruzje alone, Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin said while visiting Zastava Oruzje in Kragujevac.

– By investing in new technology and educated people, we improve things. The defense industry employs 11,700 people thanks to the investments made by the Republic of Serbia – Minister Vulin said.

The Director General of Zastava Oruzje, Mladen Petkovic, said that the machines and the equipment presented during Vulin's visit had been procured from investments approved by the Government of Serbia.

– We showcased the possibilities of the new equipment we will use to increase the productivity in the upcoming period and to master the production of new products, which will enable us to penetrate new markets, attract new clients and considerably improve the business results – Petkovic said.

The minister of defense visited the Product Development Exhibition Room, the 3D printing room and the facilities for the production of hunting and sports arms and machine guns.
