ČEZ applied for participation in tender for construction of steam power plants
- Czech Power Company ČEZ has applied for participation in the tender for construction of steam power plants in Serbia - Svjatopluh Čeh, commercial adviser of the Czech Embassy to Belgrade, said yesterday (May 12, 2009).
He said at the Belgrade Trade Fair that ČEZ would bid on the tenders for selection of strategic partners of “Electric Power Company of Serbia”, which would be in charge of development of two blocks of 350 MW in Steam Power Plant Kolubara B and construction of block of 700 MW in Steam Power Plant "Nikola Tesla" in Obrenovac.
- Czech Electric Power Company (ČEZ) is very interested in becoming investor and long-term strategic partner of Serbia in energy sector - said Čeh.
The adviser also said that Czech Export Bank had approved new credit line of 100m EUR to back the consortium of Czech companies, led by "Ineko", on the tenders for overhaul of railway tracks in Serbia.
- Serbia is becoming one of top-priority countries for Czech foreign policy – he estimated and added that Serbian market remained high-priority market even in the new conditions imposed by the global crisis.
Čeh pointed out that Serbia was the largest user of Czech development aid in the world since Czech Government had set aside 12m EUR worth of aid for realization of concrete projects in Serbia in the period 2008-2012.
- According to the records of Czech National Statistics Institute, the investors from Czech Republic have invested 20.8m EUR in Serbia since year 2000 – he said and added that that amount would be twice as big if the investment of company "Mitel" in takeover of "Ruma guma" was counted.
