The laying of the foundation stone on Saturday, December 15, marked the beginning of the first phase of the construction of the aqua park and the spa center in Palic, financed by the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, the Government of Serbia and the City of Subotica.
The prime minister of Vojvodina, Igor Mirovic, said that the value of the investment amounted to over a billion dinars and added that the works would be completed over the next two years
– I believe that Palic will thereby get features that will enable the development of tourism and bring as many tourists as possible to this part of Vojvodina – Mirovic said.
He announced the continuation of the works on the cleaning of Lake Palic and the development of the infrastructure, as well as the continuation of the works on the Y-junction
and the reconstruction of the National Theater in Subotica.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Rasim Ljajic said that this was one of the biggest investments in tourism in Serbia and added that he expected its realization to make Palic one of the most attractive travel destinations in Serbia again.
Mayor of Subotica Bogdan Laban said that the beginning of the construction of the aqua park and the wellness center was a big step toward putting Palic and Subotica back on the travel map of Serbia and the region.
The 4.4-ha complex, as announced, should have five outdoor pools and as many indoor ones, as well as wellness and spa features.
The laying of the foundation stone was also attended by the president of the Assembly of Vojvodina, Istvan Pasztor.
