Fifteen companies submitted bids on tender for construction of part of Horgoš-Novi Sad highway

- Total of 15 companies submitted their bids on the tender for construction of 20 kilometers of road on the left side of Horgoš-Novi Sad highway – the Ministry of Infrastructure of Serbia announced today (April 28, 2009).

The bids submitted by local and foreign bidders were opened on Monday, April 27th.

According to the tender terms, the decision about selection of the most favorable bidder should be made in two weeks at the latest.

The Minister of National Investment Plan (NIP), Verica Kalanović, said today that the rebalance of Serbian budget would not reduce the funds for construction of Corridor 10.

Total of 2.2 billion RSD will be set aside from NIP for Corridor 10, as well as 31.5m RSD from the emergency funds for completion of the main project for construction of 20 kilometers of road between Horgoš and Novi Sad.

The highway section on traffic corridor 10 between Novi Sad and Horgoš is 106 km long.

The tender for construction of this highway section was announced on April 3rd and, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the works should commence at the beginning of May and the section is expected to be put in traffic at the end of November.
