The City Administration of Belgrade has recently opened the tender for the preparation of the study “Technical-Technological Analysis of the Bus Subsystem of Public Passenger Transport in Belgrade”, due to the bad state of the public transport in Belgrade. The idea is to determine the current number of buses and the way of procuring new ones through precise analysis.

The selected company will be given 60 days to do the job. The opening of bids will take place on November 26.

In the study to be submitted to the Secretariat for Public Transport, the bidder will need to analyze the functioning of the existing bus subsystem, the bus lines, their utilization, citizens' demands for more frequent arrivals and the introduction of new lines. The capacities, the age and the types of the vehicles in the existing rolling stock will also be analyzed, as well as the costs of maintenance.

The bidder will also need to define the deadline and the plan for the upgrade of the rolling stock and estimate the total costs of the purchase of a new fleet.

The city authorities have been announcing the purchase of 200 new vehicles in 2019 since November 2017. It was said at the time that the City would buy 80 electric buses and new trams, which will operate the lines on the Ada Bridge.
