Abolition of unemployment tax to help employers save money
The president of the SAE, Milos Nenezic, says that employers do not aim to lower the taxes and contributions and leave the budget without money, but to provide better working conditions, which, he says, can be done with lower charges.
At the SAE meeting called “Social Dialogue and Digitalization”, Nenezic said that the Association would focus on helping prevent the brain drain from Serbia and on retraining the workforce as per employers' needs in the next period.
He emphasized that the SAE would pay special attention to laws and regulations and that the focus would be placed on education and the countering of gray economy, as well as a dialogue with social partners.
At the SAE meeting, Serbian Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Zoran Djordjevic, but also representatives of employers and unions, pointed out that it is important for there to be a social dialogue in Serbia and agreed that all social partners are equally responsible for it.
The minister said that the care for workers and their material well-being is an obligation and added that illegal employment harms both workers and employers.
He emphasized that occupational safety needed to be raised to the highest level.
