The third Thursday in November is the day when the Wine New Year is celebrated worldwide, a custom which originates in France. Another custom is for festivals and other events not to be organized in Paris, but in small places where wine is actually made. On Thursday, November 15, the Day of Young Portuguiser will be held for the 11th time.

After 10 years in Novi Sad, the event moves to Irig this year.

In addition to old features, such as the free consumption of young Portuguiser wine, the dubbing of the Portuguiser Knight, the award for the most beautiful wine song, lots of fun (folklore dancing, tango, poetry, tambura music), thanks to the support of the Municipality of Irig, the event will also feature a performance by the tambura ensemble Romansa and the tasting of top quality delicacies produced in Irig (cheeses, meat products, fruit preserves etc.), the Tourism Organization of Serbia announces.
