Draft Law on Radiation and Nuclear Safety prepared
The law aims to implement new standards in the implementation of measures of protection from ionizing radiation, nuclear and radiation security and safety, the establishment of a strict and thorough supervision of the sources of ionizing radiation and nuclear facilities, radiation activities and nuclear activities and the management of radioactive waste.
The prepared draft law is a step forward in bringing Serbia's law closer to EU's acquis communautaire.
It defines a legal framework for the passing of bylaws which will enable Serbia's law to be fully harmonized with the EU acquis, which the Republic of Serbia has obliged to with the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement.
Those interested in commenting on the draft law are invited to do so as soon as possible by sending an email to sekretarijat@ekologija.gov.rs i zakon@srbatom.gov.rs.
