"Best countries for business" – Serbia ranks 82nd on prestigious "Forbes" list
On the list of US weekly magazine "Forbes", which ranked 127 countries according to business conditions in 2009, Serbia is 82nd. Denmark is the best country for business for the second consecutive year, and it is followed by the United States of America and Canada.
According to this list, Macedonia ranks 51st, Montenegro is 74th, Albania is on the 77th place, Bosnia and Herzegovina is 119th, Croatia ranks 50th, while Slovenia is 36th.
According to “Forbes”, Great Britain, Sweden, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and Norway are among ten most attractive countries for business.
"Forbes" conducts the survey named “Best Countries for Business” for the fourth year in a row. When compared to last year’s ranking, United Arab Emirates advanced the most, by 28 places, as well as Malaysia. New Zealand climbed up on the list by seven positions, while Jordan moved from 33rd to 28th place.
- The survey is not a story of the largest growth of national gross product or lowest unemployment rate. It is an attempt at determining the trends of global economy and helping the investors and companies plan their investment activities. Global economic deccelaration has seriously shaken financial markets, accelerated unemployment rate growth and disturbed the reliability of banking system. However, it did not have the same impact on all countries, so that it is going to be easier for some of them to recover and attract investors and workers - "Forbes" concluded.
