Talking about the investment of the German company Tonnies, Serbian Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic said that no agreements had been signed, but that decisions had been made.

– It is up to Tonnies to sign an agreement for Kikinda from November 1. The land in Zrenjanin is available to them from November 1, 2019. The parcels were being leased last year and will of course be auctioned again if they don’t sign the agreement – the minister said and added that they were in constant contact with them.

– We will see whether it will happen. The real problem when it comes to investing in the sector of pig farming is the swine fever which appeared in Belgium and it is only a matter of time when it appears in Germany. Serbia is at risk too, and these are all obstacles to investments – the minister explains.
