Electrical buses from Ikarbus soon – Plans of Chinese investor an opportunity for local subcontractors

One of the biggest producers of buses and trucks in China, Li Yong, will soon arrive to Ikarbus. It is supposed to assemble electric buses exclusively at Ikarbus’ facilities, to be used for public transport in Belgrade by GSP, RTS reported.

Around 3,000 trucks, buses and pickup vehicles are exhibited at the commercial vehicle fair in Hanover. Everything points to electricity as the main drive of the future, with Chinese producers dominating the sector.

One of them, Li Yong, produces electric buses and, as said, should arrive to Ikarbus in two months.

Serbia will thereby join ecological trends.

The Chinese are also looking to open a battery factory here, and they also want buses produced at Ikarbus to be European products, which creates a great potential for the construction of new, smaller factories which would act as subcontractors in this project.
