LJAJIC : Confectionery industry in Serbia makes surplus for the first time
He added that that the import dropped by 2% and assessed that confectionery industry had a perspective because Serbian confectioners were not only competent but had more affordable goods of excellent quality compared to the competition from the EU.
– Last year we abolished taxes on import of powdered milk and butter which are important inputs for this industry. After this measure, the costs of production were lowered and the industry has become competent, Ljajic told Prva TV
He assessed that the confectionery industry had a future and reminded that last year the industry had serious problems and ran a substantial deficit in international trade.
