New plant in the Pancevo Oil Refinery to open in Quarter 3 2019
After the construction of the bottom-of-the-barrel plant with a delayed coking technology and and two reactor for coke processing is done, finishing the construction a coke oven is next, the statement says.
Both reactors, called coke drums, are 30 m tall and weigh over 200 tons. The capacity o f the coke oven will be larger than 20 megawatts.
- Bottom-of-the-barrel project is a part of the on-going modernization of Pancevo Oil Refinery, so we could offer the finest fuel for the Serbian and regional markets. Over EUR 300 mil is invested in t his project and it is among the biggest investments in Serbia. The new plant will start work in the third quarter of 2019, the statement says.
This project will ensure further investments environmental protection given the fact that once the new plant processing start the conditions will be met to stop producing heavy fuel oil with a high sulfur content and at the same time this will make it possible for Serbia to fulfill its international obligation in terms of limiting the use of fuel with a high sulfur content.
The statement adds that the goal of the project is to increase the production of high-quality petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas and the start of coke/making process, which Serbia imports at the moment.
Director of refining at NIS, Vladimir Gagic said that construction of the plant would put Pancevo Oil Refinery among the most modern ones in East Europe.
– The depth of processing will increase form 86% to 99,2% which will rand the Refinery equal with the refineries across the globe. New plants would provide larger quantities of the high-quality petroleum products made in Serbia and also bring environmental benefits.
