The fifth regional conference on telecommunication and media trends, Digital 2018, organized by Color Media Communications company, began today at Belgrade Metropol Hotel.
The Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljevic officially opened the conference and announced a series of activities to bring back Cyrillic script into digital media. The UK Ambassador to Serbia Dennis Keefe and and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic held speeches at the opening.
UK Ambassador to Serbia Dennis Keefe shared his digital experience in the past four years with the present attendees, whereas Tatjana Matic emphasized that digitization was “imperative for our future.”
- Information transfer which once took days even days today is measured on seconds. The revenue from the telecommunications sector is constantly on the rise and makes 4.3% of total GDP, Matic pointed out.
The conference traditionally started with a discussion panel for CEOs of telecommunication companies. During the two days of the event, 9 panels and 13 study cases will present discussions on transition to on-demand channels, generation Z, copyright in digital age, political consulting in the region, e-sports, sharing economy, entertainment industry, digital marketing, culture digitization, safe internet, fake news, domestic IT scene and many other topics.
