BIP starts exporting beer to USA and EU countries – new collective contract gave workers more than they demanded
Thanks to new technology that improved competitiveness of beer and increased production capacities, BIP starts export of beer to USA and countries of European Union. At the same time, new collective contract has been adopted and it anticipates modern procedures, the highest industrial safety measures and larger stimuli for workers.
According to BIP’s announcement, the Collective contract includes certain regulations from the General collective contract that have not been put in effect yet: bonus for hot meal amounts to 15%, while regress amounts to 75% of average salary in Republic of Serbia. The percentage by which the salaries are increased is higher than the one stipulated by the Law on Labor and General collective contract.
The contract also anticipates more efficient stimuli for employees – up to 100% of their basic salary. In addition to jubilee awards, the contract anticipates other awards, financial aid for every newborn, possibility of procurement of New Year’s gifts for kids and notebooks before the beginning of the school year, as well gifts for female workers on March 8th.
- We are satisfied with the agreement we’ve reached with the trade unions, and the terms we provided are better than the ones asked for by the workers of BIP in certain segments. There is a mutual trust and we always stimulate that trust in order to be sure that the employees can resolve any issue or problem in their work, all that for the sake of finding the best solution that will satisfy all sides – said Vilmantas Pečiura, the Director General of BIP. – At the same time, we are satisfied with the fact that our business strategy, which is focused on the employees and the brand development, already gives results in spite of the unexpected problems and global crisis, so that BG beer will soon be exported to the world’s most demanding markets, which also represents promotion of both Serbia and Belgrade. One year after the privatization, the improved production technology resulted in more stable quality and longer life of beer (from former 35 to current 90 days). Production capacities have been increased by 50%, while the sales in September and October 2008 grew by 40%. Our aim in 2009 is to increase the sales by 25%. Also, we have introduced the new plastic packaging and the new packaging for "Kvas".
