Tender for aquapark in Nis ready, no investors

The City of Nis has completed all the necessary preparatory activities for the tendering for the construction of an aqua park, but the tendering hasn't started yet because the only company interested in building it, Montenegrin Aquaterra Solutions, has asked for the procedure to be paused due to other ongoing investments, city councilor Mihajlo Zdravkovic stated on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

He pointed out that the city could “start the tendering right away”, but that it was in its interest for the tendering to be successful. He reminded, however, that the Montenegrin company had earlier sent a letter of intent for the construction of the aqua park.

– If no one expresses interest by the end of the next month, we will open the contest, as there is maybe someone interested that we don't know about – Zdravkovic said at the press conference on the occasion of the second anniversary of the current city administration.

Zdravkovic invited all companies interested in the construction of an aqua park to contact the city administration.

He reminded that the land for the construction, at the Lozni Kalem location at the entrance to Niska Banja, was provided by the City of Nis without compensation, but that the investor was obliged to build the aqua park with the accompanying infrastructure.

The study adopted by the City Council, which is the basis for the provision of land without compensation, says that the company that wins the tender should build a 9,000-m2 aqua park with at least seven pools.
