The first tourist card in Serbia has been presented at this year’s Tourism Fair in Belgrade. Thanks to “VisitSerbia Card” system, the tourists from the country and abroad will get significant discounts, for the first time, for large number of services, as well as discounts for shopping and free entrance to cultural institutions.
At the moment, the card offers discounts for 16 museums in Belgrade, Beo Zoo, National Observatory at Kalemegdan, Gallery and workshop of the Belgrade’s Fortress, Theater at Terazije, 6 restaurants, 3 Rakia Bars, 2 souvenir shops, as well as discounts on the prices of cruise on the Danube and the Sava, Megelan’s one-day trips, Rakia Bar tours, balloon flights and rent-a-car services.
The representatives of travel agency "Magelan" and Internet booking system "VisitSerbia.org" pointed out that it was only the first phase of the project, and that the plan was that the offer be broadened in accordance with the development of tourism economy.
“VisitSerbia Card” and accompanying brochure are designed to provide the tourists with all necessary data, contacts, photographs and information on the amount of discounts for the card owners.
The first issue of “VisitSerbia Card” will be free of charge, and tourists will be able to realize discounts only on the basis of the brochure during the promotional period. That means that tourists are not going to need the card to exercise their right on privileges. It will be enough for them to introduce themselves as the members of VisitSerbia Card system, to choose the services and goods they want to buy, and to give one coupon from the brochure for every product or service.
All developed tourist destinations have the system of tourist cards, which stimulates tourists’ consumption and increases overall incomes.
