International Conference on Mineral Resources on November 13-14 in Belgrade

The 8th International Conference on Mineral Resources in the Republic of Serbia, under the slogan “A Driving Force of Economic Development”, will be held in Belgrade, at Hotel Metropol Palace, on November 13-14. 2018.

The conference is organized by TGI Group International, under the patronage of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, the embassies of Canada, Great Britain, Australia and Finland in Serbia, the Geological and Mining Association of Serbia (GRAS), the Canadian-Serbian Business Association (CANSEE), the Mining Institute Belgrade and the Serbian Geological Society (SGD). It is supported by South Danube Metals, a member of Eldorado Gold Corporation, and the Australian company Wood.

Numerous prominent officials and experts within this sector will address the gathering, among them Kati Csaba, Ambassador of Canada to Serbia, Denis Keefe, Ambassador of Great Britain to Serbia, Pertti Ikonen, Ambassador of Finland to Serbia, Zsuzsanna Hargitai, EBRD Director for Serbia, Biljana Rankic, President of the Geological and Mining Association of Serbia (GRAS), Aleksandar Obrenovic, President of the Canadian-Serbian Business Association (CANSEE), Dr Milinko Radosavljevic, Director of the Mining Institute Belgrade, Dr Rade Jelenkovic, Vice President of the Serbian Geological Society (SGD), Branislav Grbovic, Project Director and Regional Director for South Europe at the Australian company Wood, and others.

The conference will address all important issues of the Mining Sector and will focus on the significant contribution of the Mineral Resources to the development of economies. The conference also provides a perspective of world’s mining experience in the domain of CSR, health & safety in the work place, environmental protection challenges and smart mining. The aim of this conference is to connect mining sector investors and experts with all relevant governmental, financial and social stakeholders, the organizers announce.


The topics include workplace health and safety – the best practices, mining projects in Serbia – the view from industry experts, trend of geological and mining activities in the world, balance between project funding and legal framework, as well as environmental protection challenge: how could mining waste materials be managed at mining sites. There will also be talk about corporate social responsibility in the mining sector, contributions of mining to regional development and smart mining – digitalization of equipment, technology and industry.
