The 2020 European Rowing Junior Championship will be held in Belgrade, as per the decision made at the General Meeting of European rowing federations in Glasgow.

Serbian rowing legend Nikola Stojic, who became a member of the office of the Serbian Rowing Federation after his career ended, presented Belgrade as a potential candidate to the members of the GM, which then unanimously decided to have the capital of Serbia host the 2020 European Rowing Junior Championship.

The best junior rowers of the Old Continent will compete at the Regatta Course at Ada Ciganlija on May 30-31, 2020, which will be the ninth major rowing event in that location, following the European Rowing Senior Championship of 1932, the World Rowing Junior Championship of 1978, the World Rowing Under-23 Senior Championship of 2003, the World Student Championship of 2008, the World Cup of 2012, the European Championship of 2014, the World Cup of 2017 and the World Cup of 2018.

The Secretary General of the Serbian Rowing Federation, Nebojsa Jevremovic, was re-elected board member for the next four years at the GM of the topmost European rowing authority.
