In spite of approved increase of taxi services, Belgrade citizens will continue to ride by the old prices
All Belgrade taxi unions will drive by the old prices. Even tough, 'Pink' and 'Beogradski' taxi announced to increase their prices and to drive by the pricelist approved by the city management, they changed their minds in the last moment.
- Information about the increase of prices is a product of misunderstanding which was a result of series of faults in the taxi market, said the owner of "Beogradski" taxi, Zlatan Zlatkovic.
He added that "Beogradski" taxi wanted the increase of prices, but soon it gave up on the idea when "Pink" taxi decided to keep the old pricelist.
- We had two possibilities. Either to be the only ones to increase the prices, and probably loose a great part of our customers, or to maintain the old prices, said Zlatkovic.
"Pink" taxi also wanted to raise the prices, but they didn't as other associations hadn't respected what had previously been agreed.
- Representatives of taxi unions have had a meeting 20 days ago, when they all agreed to raise the prices. That's what I said to the Press. I apologize to all citizens on my statement. I really didn't expect that people would simply not respect the agreement, said Teodor Gacesa, owner of "Pink" taxi.
Let us remind you of the scenarion that happened after the last time taxi services went up, when most of the associations kept the old pricelist just a few weeks after the Mayer approved the increase of prices.
