Red Star Belgrade to reconstruct its stadium – Design engineer sought for “Rajko”

Red Star Belgrade football club announced today that it has opened a public call for the project of the reconstruction of the Rajko Mitic stadium.

– We are inviting design companies interested in taking part in the contest for the preliminary architectural and urban plan of the reconstruction of the Rajko Mitic stadium and sports complex, to take place in the August-September 2018 period, to apply – the club says on its website.

Along with the application, companies need to submit the CV and the portfolio with a special focus on sports and public facility project references. The application deadline is August 7, 2018, and the applications are sent to office@crvenazvezdafk.com.

The list of companies that will be invited to take part in the contest will be formed through primary selection based on the capacities and the references of interested participants, Red Star Belgrade says.

Let us remind that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic recently stated that the state had EUR 35 million for investment in the development of the stadiums of Red Star and Partizan in Novi Sad and Nis. As he said at the time, the problem is that no reconstruction projects exist.

Tanjug writes that, “according to the club's plans in the new phase”, the western stand has been lowered, “the race track has been removed, and a new VIP section has been established on the western stand”.
