Telekom present platform for development of IoT services – LoRa prevents cable theft as well
The presentation was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and CEO of Telekom Srbija, Predrag Culibrk, as well as the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Marko Cadez, and the founder of the company Bitgear, Dejan Dramicanin.
– We are proud that today we are the first ones in the region to put the IoT network into operation, which is based on modern LoRa technology, which provides all conditions for the creation of a wide variety of business solutions through an ecosystem of sensors. We are also proud that we have created a sensor device, unique in the world, with our partners from Bitgear. With the implementation of this device, we are solving the several decades long problem of the company, finally establishing security control over our underground cable infrastructure, one of the key resources for unobstructed business. Telekom Srbija is ready to help everyone, from large systems, small and medium enterprises, to startups, in order to create a digital future together – Culibrk said.
Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that Telekom Srbija was one of the rare companies to identify the problems it had and reach out for local startups and solutions offered in Serbia, not seeking and buying solutions abroad.
– Even more importantly, this is a “made in Serbia” solution, which they will be able to sell more easily and penetrate foreign markets – Brnabic said.
As Culibrk explains, the LoRa technology is not a commercial service for citizens.
– The only benefit for citizens is the lack of frustration over the service not being available in case of malfunction due to theft. This is primarily a service that aims to make our services more efficient – he added.
