Smederevo is preparing for the construction of an indoor pool, and the preliminary architectural and urban plan for the project of a pool complex in this city was presented in early July.
The potential look of the pool was presented to the public, and as Zdravka Kovacevic Vasic, the head of the Department for Economy, Agriculture, Local Economic Development and Public Procurement, explains for eKapija, the preliminary project is expected to be completed in about a month, in mid-August.
It is only after the project-technical documentation, being prepared by a consortium headed by
Elkoms Belgrade, is completed that the date of the beginning of the construction might be considered, as well as who the potential investors might be.
– The plan is for the IPA project, in partnership with the Romanian municipality of Ghilad, through which the preparation of the project documentation for the indoor pool in Smederevo, to take until May 2019, and we believe that we will have the full documentation by April at the latest. After that, we will be able to consider potential investors that would invest funds in the construction of the pool. The most important thing is to first get quality documentation, as this will enable us to find a financier for the construction much more easily – points out Kovacevic Vasic, who is also the manager of the IPA project “Water Sports – A Healthy Future for Our Children”, which is carried out as part of the Romania-Serbia cross border cooperation program.
