The Managing Director of Apatinska Pivara, Vladimir Novakovic, has been elected new president of the Managing Board of the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED), the alliance announced today.

As the press release says, he succeeds the General Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Serbia and Montenegro, Aleksandar Ruzevic, who will continue his career as the head of Coca-Cola HBC Russia in Moscow.

Novakovic has been the Managing Director of Apatinska Pivara (Molson Coors Brewing Company) since October 2016. Until recently, he was the president of the Union of Serbian Breweries and a member of the NALED Managing Board. He also built his professional career at Fresh & Co, Henkel and Carnex, as sales director and managing director, the press release adds.

– The NALED has defined six key goals for the 2018-2021 period, and the priorities are to reduce the grey economy, to modernize the tax system, to upgrade the e-government and e-business, to reform the land registry and the procedure of planning and construction, to provide better conditions for the development of agriculture and food industry, to develop the health sector and to strengthen international competitiveness and regional cooperation – Novakovic said.

He added that, with over 300 members, the NALED was the biggest private-public association in Serbia and that it wanted to remain the leader in promoting the dialogue.

According to him, as the press release says, as a member in work groups for the preparation of economic regulations, the NALED has contributed to considerable enhancements of the business environment in the past year alone.

As said, the Law on Facilitated Employment of Seasonal Workers was adopted, “which has given a great boost to the suppression of illegal employment”, as were the laws on e-business and e-government, as foundations to the development of electronic services.

The eCounter service was launched this July, a modern single-counter system of registration of rights over properties in the cadaster, electronic property tax returns and the transfer of absolute rights, as well as the automated procedure for exercising the right to maternity compensations.

From October, beginners in business will be exempt from tax payment, and stamps will no longer be used.
