The Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, church representatives and Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP) signed an agreement on cooperation on the project of the Solar Power Plant (SPP) Orlec Trinket on the island of Cres, the biggest such power plant in Croatia.

The currently biggest solar power plants in Croatia have a power of one megawatt, and as HEP announces, SPP Orlec Trinket will have 6.5 MW and an expected production of 8.5 GWh. The project is worth HRK 45 million (EUR 6.1 million).

This will be the first solar power plant within HEP not to be mounted on the roofs of the company’s office facilities. Since 2014, HEP has installed nine such power plants.

Until the location permit was obtained in early June, the project had been developed by the Institute for Spatial Development of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. With the signing of the agreement, the Institute will give HEP the location permit for the construction of SPP Orlec Trinket Istok, making HEP the carrier of the project.

SPP Orlec Trinket Istok should be built on a parcel of 17 hectares, around two kilometers to the north of the Orlec settlement in Cres.
