In addition to Austria, England and Netherlands, Serbia, that is, Belgrade, is going to get Aviation Staff Training Center in April. According to the words of Katarina Andrić, the PR Adviser of the Civil Aviation Directorate, at the initiative of European aviation authorities, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria agreed that that center should be opened in Serbia.

– That will be the fourth aviation staff training center in Europe where courses and seminars will be held by local and foreign instructors. The Center will be situated in "Airport City" in New Belgrade – says Katarina Andrić, and adds that Andre Auer, the President of the Unique Aviation Authorities of Europe, paid a visit to the Directorate few days ago and that he said that, when it comes to air transportation, Belgrade was the most advanced city in the region.

By the way, during the recent visit, the people from Eurocontrol said to the representatives of Civil Aviation Directorate that there were 29 remarks that should be taken in consideration. However, according to the words of Andrić, none of these remarks concerns passengers’ security.

Andrić said for "Sunday Blic" that only 29 out of 500 requests submitted by Eurocontrol had not been met. In addition, introduction of Law on civil aviation is necessary. The Directorate sent the draft law to the authorized ministry, and even Eurocontrol estimated that draft as one of the best. However, it was not adopted because the people in the Parliament of Serbia said that there were much more important laws whose adoption was priority.

– People from Eurocontrol have visited us recently and we got very good marks for our work. It is not true that they threatened or reproached us with something. They presented 29 remarks that we are going to take in consideration soon – says Andrić, and adds that people from Eurocontrol said that certain flaws can be fixed prior to year 2011.
