The newly founded Chamber of Accountants of Serbia will send a request to President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and the competent ministry for an urgent postponement of the implementation of the value added tax (VAT) form, as it is unsuitable for the business practice, says Snezana Mitrovic, president of this association, Politika reports.

– We have proposed for a new rulebook to be prepared, such as won’t lead accountants into committing tax violation, as is the case now – Mitrovic says.

Serbia needs a rulebook modeled after the German one, which has 45 fields to fill out, not 155, which is the case with the current proposition.

– This proposition mustn’t come into effect this July 1, as it will also bring into question Serbia’s rating on the Doing Business list, which rates the conditions of doing business in our country – the president of the Chamber of Accountants of Serbia warns, as Politika reports.
