Serbia 57th of 84 countries by illicit trade index
The countries, including those from the Balkans for the first time, have been selected to give the optimal overview of the global situation, taking into consideration geographical variety, population and level of development. Montenegro placed 63rd and B&H 74th.
Four categories were observed: Government Policy, Customs Environment, Transparency & Trade and Supply & Demand.
The results of the report will be presented in detail on June 20 in Belgrade at a conference organized by AmCham called Illicit Trade and Grey Economy – International and Local Perspective. The topics at the conference will include key challenges and the next steps to be taken in suppressing illicit trade and grey economy in Serbia and the Balkans, to the end of creating a better business climate.
