Belgrade to host Canoe and Kayak Euro Tournament on June 8-10

Belgrade is fully prepared for the organization of another great tournament, the European Canoe and Kayak Tournament, which will be held on June 8-10, and where over 1,000 contestants from more than 40 European countries are expected, Deputy Mayor Andreja Mladenovic said at the press conference held at the Old Palace, Beoinfo reports.

– The preparations are going according to plan, and the city's enterprises and secretariats have been put in the service of the tournament. We hope that the weather will be good, as this is a very important sports event, held at Ada Ciganlija – Mladenovic said.

He added that the organization of big tournaments was important for the development of sports in Serbia, but that it was also an important promotion of Belgrade.

– The images the world can seen through media during big sports events in Belgrade are a much better advertisement for our city than any paid marketing service. The financial aspect is also very important for the city, as 1,000 contestants, together with their coaches and other team members, are visiting Belgrade for six to seven days, which is of course good for the development of tourism and economy in our city – Mladenovic concluded.
