TRIVAN: Draft of preparation of negotiation position for Chapter 27 soon

Serbian Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan stated on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, that the draft of the preparation of the negotiation position for Chapter 27, pertaining to environmental protection, would be finished after several weeks.

Trivan pointed out that, after the draft is prepared, there would be negotiations with the Directorate for Environmental Protection, in order to see whether changes need to be made to the document, and explained that the date of the opening of Chapter 27 would depend on this procedure.

– When we visited Brussels in December, the EU Commissioner for the Environment, Karmenu Vella, told us that they are fully prepared to provide every kind of help, the minister pointed out.

Goran Trivan said that Commissioner Vella told our team that the opening of Chapter 27 should not be rushed, as it is the most complicated and delicate chapter for Serbia according to the European Union.
